Side Dishes
Banchan often translated as "side dishes" are an essential part of any Korean meal. They are not just decoration or appetizers: they are the meal, along with soup and rice.
Soup
Korean soup, or guk is an essential element of Korean food culture. Many Koreans feel that along with rice, kimchi, and banchan, no meal is complete without it.
Bibimbap
Bibimbap (Korean pronunciation: [bibimbap], sometimes anglicized bi bim bap or bi bim bop) is a signature Korean dish. The word literally means "mixed rice". Bibimbap is served in a bowl or dolsot of warm white rice topped with namul (sautéed and seasoned vegetables) and gochujang (chili pepper paste), soy sauce, or doenjang, a salty soybean paste. A raw or fried egg and sliced meat (usually beef) are common additions. The hot dish is stirred together thoroughly just before eating.
Kimchi bokkeumbap
Kimchi bokkeumbap (Korean pronunciation: [kimtɕʰi bok͈ɯmbap]) is a variety of bokkeumbap (Hangul: fried rice dishes), a popular dish in Korea. Its name literally translates as "kimchi fried rice". Kimchi bokkeumbap is made primarily with kimchi and rice, along with other available ingredients, such as diced vegetables or meats.
Samgyeopsal
Samgyeopsal ( Korean pronunciation: [sʰamɡjʌps͈al]) is a popular Korean dish that is commonly served as an evening meal. It consists of thick, fatty slices of pork belly meat. The meat, usually neither marinated nor seasoned, is cooked on a grill at the diners’ table. Usually diners grill the meat themselves and eat directly from a grill. It is most commonly dipped in sesame seed oil mixed with salt and pepper.
Kimbap
Gimbap or kimbap is a Korean dish amade from steamed white rice (bap) and various other ingredients, rolled in gim (sheets of dried laver seaweed) and served in bite-size slices. Gimbap is often eaten during picnics or outdoor events, or as a light lunch, served with danmuji or kimchi.
Palate:
Korean foods suit my taste as I do love spicy foods. But for those people who doesn't like the taste of spicy foods the Gui Gui Grill has other options. They have other foods that suits the filipino taste as they try to make korean foods taste like filipino foods.
Price:
Other people says that the foods here are affordable but for me it's not. You have to prepare a budget before you dine at Gui Gui since not all the foods are cheap. Even it's not that cheap but the foods here are worth the price since Gui Gui choose to have Quality over Quantity.
Place:
The place is not so big and you might have to consider the ventilation since the the smoke of the yummy grilled foods will stick to your dress, skin and hair. You can watch TV as they play korean musics while waiting for the foods. Also the people here is approachable and friendly as they do their duties to be friendly to customer.
After sending off one of our friend to the airport we decided to grab a dinner since it was already past 9:00pm when my king decided to eat dinner here at Gui Gui. I've been here at Gui Gui Grill many times before but this just past few months I been into blogging so I decided to post my experience at Gui Gui Grill. I really regret those times that I tasted a lot of foods before when I haven't yet into blogging. I wish to get back all those days; but it's okey I have a lot of time to visit many kinds of foods stand, resto, fast foods, coffee shop and many more. I will try to food hopping when my pocket is full. ajaja ^_^
